We went on a city tour today. It's probably the most relaxing day since everything was arranged by the travel agency. We went to Sugar loaf ( the highest point of Rio) and Corcovado ( Jesus Chris 's open arm statue). The bus also took us around the centrol part of the town where some historic sites and museums are located, including the famous soccer stadium "Maracana". The highlight of the day is the fabulous Brazil BBQ lunch! It's the best meal I've had at Rio. Authentic Brazilian food!
How can you miss a night out (or night outs) at this party town. Rio is like New Orleans in the States. How can you not party here? Especially it was toward new year celebration and the whole town is sizzling! We went to Lapa for a night out that night. It was so packed. The whole area was packed by the party people and lines anywhere in front of clubs. We finally got into a samba club and rubbed the elbows and shoulders with the party crowd. It was crazy. It was about 4:00am when we got back from clubbing. The town was absolutely still wild awake, with all the oceanfront restaurants and bars and clubs still open and trendy girls lining up in the front and even the beach volleyball still going on! Rio is hot, probably too hot though, for me! Funny....
