It's a georgous sunny day perfect for beach. We went down to Ipanema beach. It was hot and again packed! People watch is a very interesting part! There's absolutley a diversity of peole hanging out there, locals, tourists, blacks, whites and mixes (all kinds of mixes). The guys are wearing the little tiny sexy stretchy shorts. That's very interesting to see (LOL). That's the typical shorts they wear ( it doesn't mean anything). Yes, there are a lot of gay couples and they are hot on the beach. Another interesting notice is that vendors are selling snacks on the sands. They will bring icecream, corns, chips and even skewered shrimp to your month with a couple of Reails.
The stages were set up for the big new year celebration. I ran into two American travelers on the beach. One of them names Shean and we met at San Paulo Airport and took a taxi ride together. We started to chat about the trip and Rio. When asked how he thinks about Rio, he used a word" very different". Having been partying 4 days in a row, he seemed pretty tired. They told me about the "bitches" in town. Prostitution is very very common. At night we went to an oceanfront restaurant for dinner. We noticed that at least half of the local looking girls at the restaurant were not there for food apparently. It's sad...

We were supposed to go to Samba school which I had looked forward for a while that night. But guess what, I overslept and Martin overshopped and we both missed the event. I was very bummed. I'm still now! Oh, well... things sometimes doen't go the way you expect.... there's really no destination, it's all about the journey. No matter where it takes you, just roll with it....
