Weekend in Melbourne

On the only weekend we stay in Melbourne, we decided to check out Yarra Valley and a horse racing event as well in that area. It's Melbourne's magnificant horse racing season. Melbourne's cup day is on November 1st, the Tuesday after we leave, which is Melbourne's holiday.
Yarra Valley is a wine tasting area. We checked out 4 wineries and bought a couple of bottles. The Yarra Valley horse racing is a local country track event full of nicely dressed ladies in their proud hats and party goers. It's more of a social event than a gambling event. Hey fever is extremely aggressive in this area. Suffering non-stop sneezing and scratching, I finally ran away and headed back to city. On the way back, we checked out "Healsvile Sanctuary" where native birds reside.
At night, we strolled through a fun and edgy street called "Brunswick" and had Tapas for dinner and checked out a number of bars along the street on the way back.
