A weekend by Gulf of Mexico

Between the weeks of the fieldwork, my coworker Jason and I got to escape to Gulf of Mexico for the weekend. I was in the working mode till Saturday morning when I opened the curtain in my ocean front suite, the entire Ft. Walton beach is unfolded in front of me. Nice and cool ocean breeze blew in from the Gulf of Mexico, white sandy beach quietly extended along the Gulf, that is it! This is the best time of the year to visit Gulf of Mexico. The perfect weather plus less tourists adds a ton of pleasure to hang out and relax. A nice jog followed by a nice breakfast buffet and more walking along the beach, we stayed on the beach for most of the day before we packed again and headed over to next beach town Panama City Beach. En route we had a big crab feast at the Crab Trap. Panama City beach is a bigger and a bit more urban looking beach town. Thanks to my savvy travel partner and his hotel status, I got to stay at a nice ocean front suite again right on the beach. This hotel (Holiday Inn) has two gorgeous large swimming pools and a water park! We started the beautiful Sunday with Mimosa and Sunday brunch. After that we took a long walk on the beach and hung out by the pool for a bit before checking out. A seafood dinner at the Boatyard by the Marina was a nice finish to the weekend trip. On the way back to Tallahassee, I fell asleep before switching back to the working mode. A getaway like this is an escape from the stress of work that makes me appreciate more the peace and beauty of a beach.
