Going back to Nairobi from Kabale turned out another long and rough journey. Traveling from Kabale back to Kampala was easy and painless. The Gateway coach was however late when it reached to Kampala. The only coach that leaves for Nairobi at night is Kampala Coach. In the hustle and bustle of Kampala downtown, I was misled by a couple of local guys. When I finally got to the Kampala Coach station, the price for the ticket to Nairobi was high. I decided to check back in later. When I came back from dinner, all the tickets for 8:00pm bus were sold out and the only tickets left were for 3:00am bus. That means 7 hours wait! There was a waiting room where hundreds of people sat or laid on the floor. I put down my backpack and made it a temporary bed for next 7 hours. After past midnight, a complimentary dinner was served that includes rice and delicious cabbage! Here I am , having dinner at 1:00 am in the morning with hundreds of strangers at an African coach station. Following the dinner I was roaming around on the street looking for toilet. There was a tea booth near the coach station where a few homeless people crawling and sleeping beneath the booth. A girl was selling tea at 1:00am in the morning. She followed me all the way to the station and tried to sell me her tea.
At 2:00am, I finally got on the bus heading to Nairobi. I arrived at Nairobi at 2:30pm the following day.
