A solo hike on San Jacinto on St. Paddys day

It's an accidental solo hike at San Jacinto National park. It was planned as a group hike to San Jacinto peak. I was so lost and missed the group. I ended up finding myself 8:00am Saturday morning in the ranger station of San Jacinto National park located in Idywill. I smelled the fresh chilly air from the surrounding woods and trees. The little mountain town just woke up! I decided to take on a hike on my own. I took the moderate trail called " deep spring trail". It's a fairly easy trail of 7-8 miles. It took me about 2 hours to go up and only 1 hour to come down. The weather warmed up very fast and by the time I came down at noon the heat started sizzling. It's a very nice little solo hike. I was totally on my own pace and I got to contemplate better. The destination is called suicide rock, a wierd name. It's a pile of rocks. I wonder if people still want to kill themselve once they climb up the pile of rocks. Sitting on the top of the rocks and overlooking the mountain is such a beautiful thing! Unfortunately the media card in my old school camera with an as little as 8MB memory can only allow me to take two pictures. ( I couldn't even figure out how heck the damn card got into my camera, it's a mystery!).
It's a nice break from hectic work schedule except that it's a 4-hour driving going and coming back from the hike. But I really have nothing to complain about. One thing I learned is that you always make the best of whatever circumstance you are in. Also a solo hike can be really fun and relaxing and allow you to focus on your own thoughts better.
